Gates of Olympus 2500 slot review
Gates of Olympus 2500 is the newest step in Pragmatic Play's Zeus series, released in late September 2026, and it changes more than the number in its name. Orb multipliers now reach 2,500x, the top prize rises to 25,000x the bet, and a wheel decides which of four free spins modes you play. The standard RTP is 96.52% and the volatility is high.

How to play Gates of Olympus 2500
Gates of Olympus 2500 keeps the format that made the series famous. Zeus floats beside a 6x5 grid of gems and gold treasures, and there are no paylines. Any 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the screen pay, and bigger groups of 10 or 12 pay more. The gold crown is the top regular symbol at 50x for 12 or more.
Every win sets off a tumble. The winning symbols disappear, new ones drop in from above, and the game keeps paying for as long as fresh wins form. A single paid spin can therefore produce a short chain of wins rather than one result.
Bets run from 0.20 to 240 per spin on most international sites, before any of the optional bonus bets. In the UK the limits are much lower. There is no wild symbol, so everything rests on symbol clusters, tumbles and the orb multipliers described below.
What is new in Gates of Olympus 2500 compared with the 1000 and Super Scatter versions
The series now has several versions on Stake, and they are easy to mix up. Here is what sets this one apart.
- Original Gates of Olympus: orbs up to 500x and a 5,000x max win, with a single free spins round.
- Gates of Olympus 1000 (2023): the same game with orbs up to 1,000x and a 15,000x max win. Still one free spins round, a simple 25% ante and a 100x buy.
- Gates of Olympus Super Scatter (2025): keeps the 500x orb cap but adds Super Scatter symbols that pay fixed prizes up to 50,000x when the bonus triggers.
- Gates of Olympus 2500 (2026): orbs up to 2,500x, a 25,000x max win, a bonus wheel with four free spins modes, three tiers of bonus bet and two Super Spin options.
In short, the 1000 version raised the numbers, the Super Scatter version added a new symbol, and the 2500 version rebuilt the bonus round. The base game plays almost the same as the 1000; the changes show up once free spins start.
Gates of Olympus 2500 orb multipliers explained
Orb multiplier symbols can land on any spin or tumble, in both the base game and free spins. Each one shows a random value from 2x up to 2,500x. When the tumble sequence ends, all orb values on the grid are added together and applied to the total win for that spin.
An orb only counts if the spin also produces a win. In the base game the orbs reset after every paid spin, so they boost single results rather than building over time. Most orbs carry small values, and the very large ones are rare, which is where the high volatility comes from.
The 2,500x cap mainly lifts the ceiling on rare big hits. Day to day, the base game pays much like earlier versions.
Gates of Olympus 2500 free spins and the bonus wheel
Four or more Zeus scatters anywhere on the grid trigger 15 free spins. The scatters also pay on their own: 3x for four, 5x for five and 100x for six or more. During the round, three or more scatters add five more spins, with no limit on retriggers.
Before the spins begin, a wheel picks one of four modes:
- Free Spins 1: works like the classic round. Orbs that land on a winning spin are added to a running total multiplier, which then applies to wins.
- Free Spins 2: every orb that lands goes into the running total, even on spins that do not win. The total builds faster.
- Super Free Spins 1: Free Spins 1 rules, but every orb is worth at least 10x.
- Super Free Spins 2: Free Spins 2 rules with the same 10x minimum. This is the strongest mode.
The wheel is the biggest design change in the series. Two triggers can now play out very differently, and the wheel's result shapes the round before the first spin.
Gates of Olympus 2500 bonus buy, bonus bets and Super Spins
| Option | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus Bet 1 | 1.25x bet | About twice the normal chance of free spins |
| Bonus Bet 2 | 2.75x bet | About eight times the normal chance of free spins |
| Bonus Bet 3 | 5.5x bet | Same boosted chance as Bonus Bet 2, and a trigger skips the plain Free Spins 1 mode |
| Super Spin 1 | 20x bet per spin | At least one orb multiplier on every spin; free spins cannot trigger |
| Super Spin 2 | 250x bet per spin | At least one orb worth 25x or more on every spin; free spins cannot trigger |
| Buy Free Spins 1 | 100x bet | 15 spins in the Free Spins 1 mode |
| Buy Free Spins 2 | 250x bet | 15 spins in the Free Spins 2 mode |
| Buy Super Free Spins 1 | 500x bet | 15 spins with a 10x minimum orb |
| Buy Super Free Spins 2 | 1,250x bet | 15 spins with collecting orbs and a 10x minimum |
This is a long menu, and it is the reason Stake tags the game with a volatility switch. The bonus bets and Super Spins let you choose how hard each spin swings. Bonus Bet 1 is a mild step up. Super Spin 2 at 250x per spin is an extreme one, and it disables free spins entirely.
Every option raises the cost per round, and the buys do not change the long-run return in your favour. Review data lists the bonus bets at about 96.49% and the buys at about 96.5%, close to the base game. Buying the 1,250x mode at a 1 unit bet means 1,250 units on one round, so size these choices to your balance. Feature buys are not offered in every country.
Gates of Olympus 2500 RTP, volatility and max win
The standard Gates of Olympus 2500 RTP is 96.52%, the figure given by SlotCatalog, OLBG and win.gg. Pragmatic Play's own game page shows 96.51%, a small gap we list below. Lower 95.50% and 94.50% versions also exist, and casinos choose which one to run, so open the in-game rules to see the figure where you play.
Volatility is high. Review data puts the hit rate at about 27.9%, or one winning spin in every 3.6, and free spins at roughly one trigger in 443 spins without any bonus bet. Long stretches of small or empty spins are normal.
The Gates of Olympus 2500 max win is 25,000x the bet, five times the original game and well above the 1000 version's 15,000x. OLBG puts the odds of the full cap at about 1 in 13.5 million spins. That is far more reachable than the Super Scatter version's 50,000x, which OLBG rates at about 1 in 667 million.
Is there a Gates of Olympus 2500 demo?
Yes. Pragmatic Play serves a free Gates of Olympus 2500 demo with play money, and you can run it on this page with no sign-up. The demo is worth using here more than in most slots, because the wheel modes and nine bet options are hard to judge from a paytable alone.
Demo results do not predict real-money results, but they show how quickly each bet option moves a balance.
Who Gates of Olympus 2500 suits
Gates of Olympus 2500 suits players who already know the series and want more control over their risk. The wheel adds variety to the bonus, and the bonus bet ladder lets you dial each spin from mild to extreme.
It suits casual players less. The base game is nearly identical to the 1000 version, the menu of options can be confusing, and the steepest settings can empty a balance quickly. For simplicity, pick the 1000; for the biggest cap, the Super Scatter version.
Our verdict on Gates of Olympus 2500
Gates of Olympus 2500 is the most complete version of Pragmatic Play's Zeus slot so far. The base game is the same reliable tumble-and-orb loop, but the bonus wheel and its four modes finally give the free spins some variety, and the 25,000x cap is high without being out of reach. A 96.52% RTP keeps the maths in good shape.
The weak point is the menu. Three bonus bets, two Super Spins and four buys at up to 1,250x make it easy to spend far more per round than intended. Play the demo first, stick to the plain bet or Bonus Bet 1 unless you have a large balance, and treat the Super modes as rare luck rather than a plan.
Overall = 8.0×0.25 + 7.5×0.25 + 8.5×0.2 + 7.5×0.15 + 6.5×0.15 = 7.7. The score rates the game, not your odds of winning.

Not confirmed: RTP: SlotCatalog, OLBG and win.gg give 96.52%; Pragmatic Play's game page prints 96.51%. We use 96.52% because three independent sources agree. Super Spin 2 price: win.gg and SlotCatalog list 250x; OLBG lists 2,500x, which looks like a typo. We use 250x. Release date: SlotCatalog, OLBG and win.gg say 28 September 2026; Stake lists 27 September 2026. Volatility switch: Stake tags the game with 'Volatility Switch', but no source we read describes a separate switch. We take it to mean the bonus bet and Super Spin options. Bonus bet and buy RTPs (about 96.49% and 96.5%) come from OLBG only. Bet range: 0.20 to 240 from SlotCatalog and win.gg; OLBG notes UK limits of 0.20 to 5. Stake's own limits could not be checked because its page was blocked.
