Le Outlaw slot review

Le Outlaw is Hacksaw Gaming's Wild West chapter of its Le series, putting Smokey the raccoon on a 6×5 cluster pays grid where winning Wilds become loaded revolvers. Each shot uncovers coins, diamonds, clovers or loot bags, and three free spins tiers sit behind a bonus gamble that can lift a modest trigger into the top feature.

How to play Le Outlaw

The Le Outlaw slot runs on six reels and five rows. A win needs a cluster of at least five matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically. Winning symbols are cleared after each payout and new ones drop into the gaps, so a single spin can chain several wins before it settles.

Stakes start at 0.05 per spin, and slot databases list a top bet of 40. That makes the game cheap to explore at the low end, while the ceiling is modest for players who usually bet big.

The part that makes Le Outlaw different happens when a Wild is part of a winning cluster. Instead of vanishing with the other winning symbols, it turns into a Revolver Cylinder loaded with two to six shots. When the cascades are finished, each cylinder fires its shots at random positions and reveals prizes underneath. If no Wild joins a win, the spin plays out as an ordinary cluster round, and that describes most base game spins.

Le Outlaw features explained

The revolver is the engine of the whole game. Every shot lands on a random spot and uncovers one special symbol, and the way those symbols feed off each other is where the depth comes from.

  • Coins: cash prizes shown as multiples of your bet, in three grades. Bronze pays 1x to 4x, Silver 5x to 20x and Gold 25x to 100x. Reviewers note that coins can be upgraded when they are hit again.
  • Diamonds: the top cash symbol, worth between 150x and 500x.
  • Green Clovers: multipliers from 2x to 20x that apply to the special symbols next to them.
  • Gold Clovers: the same 2x to 20x range, but applied to every special symbol on the grid. A Green Clover that takes a second shot is promoted to Gold.
  • Loot Bags: collectors that gather the values of the coins, diamonds and other loot bags in play.
  • Reload: refills every active cylinder with another two to six shots, which keeps the sequence going.

Order and position matter. A Gold Clover that lands before a Loot Bag means the bag collects boosted values, and a Reload in the middle of a sequence gives every cylinder another chance to find those combinations. Most revolver rounds still end with a few bronze or silver coins, which is why the game feels quiet for long stretches.

Le Outlaw free spins and bonus games

Free spins are triggered by FS scatter symbols, and the number you land decides which of three bonuses you get. Every tier awards 10 free spins.

  • High Noon Saloon (3 scatters): the entry bonus. Revolver Cylinders appear more often than in the base game, so revolver sequences come round more regularly. It is the weakest of the three.
  • Trail of Trickery (4 scatters): everything from High Noon Saloon plus a Bullet Collector. Each winning cluster adds a bullet, and on the final spin Smokey fires everything that has been collected.
  • Pistols at Dawn (5 scatters): the hidden top bonus. The collector starts with five bullets, fires after every spin and keeps its level as more wins add bullets. All cylinders and reloads activate on every spin, Bronze Coins are removed so Silver becomes the lowest coin, and FS symbols can no longer land.

Before a bonus starts you get a Bonus Gamble. From High Noon Saloon you can spin for an upgrade to Trail of Trickery, with a cash award between 1x and 100x as the alternative outcome. From Trail of Trickery the same choice applies, with Pistols at Dawn as the upgrade and a cash award between 5x and 500x as the other result. Two successful gambles take a three-scatter trigger all the way to the top tier.

The odds of each gamble are not published. Reviewers say the game's return moves only by small fractions depending on whether you gamble, so the choice is mostly about how much variance you want rather than a way to gain an edge.

Le Outlaw bonus buy options

FeatureCostWhat you get
BonusHunt3× bet per spinRegular spins with a higher chance of landing free spins scatters
Wild West FeatureSpins75× bet per spinEnhanced spins built around the revolver feature
High Noon Saloon65× betDirect entry to the 3-scatter free spins
Trail of Trickery250× betDirect entry to the 4-scatter free spins with the Bullet Collector

To put the prices in practice: at a 1.00 bet, High Noon Saloon costs 65 and Trail of Trickery costs 250. Wild West FeatureSpins is priced per spin, so ten of them cost 750, more than eleven High Noon Saloon buys. BonusHunt looks cheap at 3x, but it triples the cost of every spin for as long as it is switched on.

Pistols at Dawn cannot be bought. The only routes in are five scatters or a winning gamble from Trail of Trickery, so buying the 250x tier and gambling it is the most direct path to the top bonus. Bonus buys raise the cost of each round sharply and do not change the house edge in your favour, and the return of each buy option is not published in the sources we checked. Availability can also vary by region; one review site tested a version with no buy menu at all.

Le Outlaw RTP, volatility and max win

The standard Le Outlaw RTP is 96.28%, which works out to a house edge of 3.72%, and that is the version Stake lists. Hacksaw also supplies lower configurations to operators, with figures down to about 86.3%, and some slot databases show that lower number as the headline. The in-game information screen tells you which version you are actually playing.

Volatility is reported differently depending on the source. Stake and SlotCatalog call it medium, while Bigwinboard, FruitySlots and Sigma rate it high. We list it as high because of how the game pays: most of its value sits in rare revolver chains and in the top free spins tier, and dry runs in the base game are common. Plan your session budget as you would for a high-variance slot.

The Le Outlaw max win is 25,000x your bet. Stake's own page gives 10,000x in one place and 25,000x in another, but every independent database and review we checked lists 25,000x. At the 40 top bet that is a potential payout of 1,000,000. Getting near it realistically needs Pistols at Dawn with clovers, diamonds and loot bags landing in the right order, so treat it as a ceiling, not a target.

Design and the Le series

Le Outlaw keeps the look that runs through the Le series: a bright cartoon style, a dusty frontier setting and Smokey the raccoon as the mischievous lead, this time cast as a gunslinger. The revolver cylinders and bullet animations give the theme a clear job in the gameplay rather than leaving it as decoration.

Bigwinboard found it close to Le Cowboy but credited the revolver mechanic with enough substance to stand out, and FruitySlots picked the gamble ladder as the highlight. We agree: the look is familiar, the feature design is not.

Who Le Outlaw suits

Le Outlaw suits players who enjoy layered mechanics and like watching a sequence build, where the outcome depends on what lands and in what order. Fans of the earlier Le games will feel at home.

It is a weaker fit for players who want frequent, simple wins. Long spells of small cluster payouts are normal, and the best features hinge on rare combinations. The 0.05 minimum bet does make it inexpensive to try the game and learn how the revolver works before committing larger stakes, and you can read more about where we play in our Stake review.

Our verdict on Le Outlaw

Le Outlaw is a well-built addition to Hacksaw's Le series. Turning winning Wilds into revolvers that reveal coins, clovers and loot bags gives the base game a genuine hook, and the three-tier free spins with a gamble ladder create real choices instead of a single bonus on repeat. The 96.28% RTP version is fair for the genre, and the 25,000x cap is high enough to keep the top tier exciting.

The drawbacks are the familiar presentation, a base game that can go quiet for long stretches, and RTP versions as low as about 86% at some operators, so it pays to check the info screen. We would recommend it to players who like complex cluster games and accept high variance, ideally at a small stake while learning the feature.
