Starlight Princess 1000 slot review
Starlight Princess 1000 is Pragmatic Play's upgraded version of its popular anime tumble slot, and it is one of the most played games on Stake. It keeps the 6×5 pay-anywhere grid but raises the top multiplier to 1,000x and the max win to 15,000x, all at a 96.50% top RTP. Here is how it plays, what the bonus buy costs and how it compares with the original Starlight Princess.

How to play Starlight Princess 1000
Starlight Princess 1000 plays on six reels and five rows, with the princess standing to the side of the grid. There are no paylines. You win by landing eight or more of the same symbol anywhere on screen, and bigger counts pay more, up to 50x the bet for 12 or more of the top sun symbol.
Every win triggers a tumble. Paying symbols disappear, the remaining ones drop, and new symbols fill the gaps from above. Pragmatic Play sets no limit on how many tumbles can follow in a row, so one paid spin can produce a long chain of wins.
Bets run from 0.20 to 125 per spin. Before spinning you can turn on the Ante Bet for more frequent bonuses, or skip the base game and buy the free spins directly. Both are explained in detail further down.
Starlight Princess 1000 features explained
The game relies on a short list of features, and most of its character comes from the multiplier symbols.
- Tumble wins: Winning symbols are cleared and replaced, and the sequence continues while new wins form.
- Multiplier symbols: Orb multipliers can land on any spin or tumble in both the base game and the bonus. Their values range from 2x up to 1,000x, with steps such as 10x, 25x, 100x, 250x and 500x in between.
- Sequence totals: In the base game, all multipliers that land during one tumble sequence are added together when it ends and applied to the total win of that sequence.
- Princess scatter: The princess scatter pays on any position and opens the free spins round.
Multipliers only pay out when a win lands in the same sequence. A 500x orb on a spin with no win is worth nothing, which is why the game can show large numbers on screen and still return very little.
The paytable is spread across nine symbols. Five gems form the low tier and four celestial symbols, led by the sun, form the high tier. Even the top symbol pays only 10x the bet for the minimum eight, so most big results depend on multipliers rather than on symbol counts alone.
Free spins and bonus games
Four or more scatters in the same tumble sequence trigger 15 free spins. The scatters also pay on their own: 3x the bet for four, 5x for five and 100x for six. The number of free spins stays at 15 however many scatters you land.
Inside the round, three or more scatters in one sequence add five more spins, and this can repeat. The real change is how multipliers behave. Each multiplier that hits during a winning sequence is added to a running total for the round, and that total then boosts every later win that also includes a multiplier.
This is what makes the bonus swing so hard in both directions. A round that collects two or three large multipliers early can grow quickly, because each new hit uses the full accumulated figure. A round that collects little early often ends below the cost of a buy.
Starlight Princess 1000 bonus buy and ante bet
| Option | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Buy Free Spins | 100× bet | Starts the 15-spin free spins round straight away |
| Ante Bet | 1.25× bet per spin | About double the chance of triggering free spins naturally; the bonus buy is disabled while it is on |
The Starlight Princess 1000 bonus buy costs 100x your bet, so 100 on a 1.00 stake or 20 on 0.20. That is a standard Pragmatic Play price, and it is the cheapest way to see the feature on demand. It is not a discount: a single buy can return a small fraction of its price, so budget for several if you take this route. The buy is not offered in some markets, including the UK.
The Ante Bet is the milder option. A 25% higher stake roughly doubles the natural trigger rate, which suits players who like the base game but want the bonus to appear more often. Both options raise what you spend per round, so set a limit before you begin.
Starlight Princess 1000 RTP, volatility and max win
The Starlight Princess 1000 RTP is 96.50% in its top configuration, which matches Pragmatic Play's own listing. Slotcatalog notes that casinos can pick lower settings, so read the game rules on Stake to confirm what is running. At 96.50%, the expected long-run cost is about 3.5% of all money staked.
Volatility is high, the label the game shows on its own intro screen. Most of the game's return arrives in a small share of free spins rounds, and many sessions will end without seeing a large multiplier connect with a win.
The Starlight Princess 1000 max win is 15,000x the stake, as the intro screen states, which equals 1,875,000 at the 125 maximum bet. That cap is three times the original game's ceiling, and slotcatalog records a confirmed 15,000x hit from a 0.20 bet in April 2024, so the top prize has been reached in real play. It is still extremely rare, and nobody should expect to see it.
How Starlight Princess 1000 differs from the original
The original Starlight Princess set the template: a 6×5 pay-anywhere grid, tumbling wins and multiplier orbs that collect into a round total during free spins. The 1000 version keeps that structure intact, so the way a spin plays out and the way the bonus builds will be familiar from the first round.
What changes is the top end. The original's multipliers stopped at 500x and its cap sat at 5,000x. The 1000 version adds a 1,000x orb and triples the max win to 15,000x. The art and animations were also refreshed, though the princess and the overall look are instantly recognisable.
In practice, the higher ceiling makes the game a little more extreme. The common outcomes feel much the same as the original, but the rare top results are larger, which is what keeps the volatility rating high.
Is there a Starlight Princess 1000 demo?
Yes. Pragmatic Play hosts a free Starlight Princess 1000 demo on its demo server, and Stake offers the game in Fun Play mode. The demo uses virtual credit and the same rules as the real game.
It is worth playing a few dozen demo spins with and without the Ante Bet to see how often the scatters land. That gives a better sense of what a real budget will cover than any statistic.
Who Starlight Princess 1000 suits
Starlight Princess 1000 suits players who enjoy tumble slots with stacking multipliers and want a higher ceiling than the original offers. The 100x buy and 25% ante give flexible ways to reach the bonus, and the 96.50% top RTP is fair.
It is not a game for small, steady sessions. The high volatility means long gaps between meaningful wins, and the big multipliers mostly matter during free spins. If you prefer gentler swings, the original Starlight Princess or a medium volatility slot is a better fit.
Our verdict on Starlight Princess 1000
Starlight Princess 1000 does what a sequel should: it keeps a proven formula intact and raises the stakes at the top. The 1,000x orb and 15,000x cap give the free spins real headroom, while the 96.50% RTP, 100x buy and 1.25x ante keep the price of play in line with Pragmatic Play's other tumble slots.
It offers little that is new beyond those bigger numbers, and the higher ceiling brings sharper swings. Players who already know the original will feel at home right away. Try the demo first, keep buys to a fixed budget and remember that the 15,000x figure is a ceiling, not a target.
Overall = 8.0×0.25 + 7.0×0.25 + 7.5×0.2 + 7.5×0.15 + 7.5×0.15 = 7.5. The score rates the game, not your odds of winning.
