Duck Hunters 2 slot review
Duck Hunters 2 is Nolimit City's sequel to its 2025 duck-hunting hit, and it keeps the scatter pays grid where every win leaves a doubling multiplier behind on the spot it cleared. The per-position ceiling rises to x16,384, Bombs now work up and down a reel, free spins draw from six upgrades instead of three, and the max win climbs to 40,000x.

How to play Duck Hunters 2
The Duck Hunters 2 slot has no paylines. Any eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid pay, and the top character symbol, Santa, returns 6x your bet for twelve or more. Nolimit City's game info lists five reels of six positions, while some reviews describe it as 6×5; either way there are 30 positions in play.
Each win is removed from the grid and new symbols fall into the gaps. The position a winning symbol leaves behind gets a x2 multiplier, and every later win on that same spot doubles it again, up to x16,384. Some spins also start with random multipliers already placed on the grid. In the base game the multipliers reset once the spin has played out.
Bets run from 0.20 to 100 per spin. UK players are capped at £5 a spin, or £2 for those under 25, and do not get the bonus buy menu. Hit frequency is 17.68%, so roughly four spins in five pay nothing at all.
Duck Hunters 2 features explained
The special symbols exist to grow the multipliers faster or to clear space so they get used again.
- Wild: stands in for all paying symbols.
- xWays: turns into a paying symbol and multiplies the multiplier on its position by 2, 4 or 8.
- Infectious xWays: reveals a symbol, and every matching symbol on the grid expands to the same size. When several xWays land together they all become the same symbol.
- Bomb: goes off when no wins are left. It removes itself and the symbols above it on its reel, and adds escalating multipliers going up: x2 on its own spot, x4 one row higher, x8 above that, and so on. Bonus symbols are not affected.
- xTra: after a winning spin you may be offered another spin that keeps the multipliers, as long as it costs no more than you just won. A cheaper version halves the multipliers. Bonus symbols cannot land on it.
- Side Hustle: optional add-on bets that raise the cost of a spin and pay a fixed prize if a chosen event happens, such as a character being removed, a position reaching x16,384, exactly two Bonus symbols in the base game, or a dead spin. Bigwinboard lists payouts from about 13.95x to 493.75x.
The best spins come when a Bomb or Infectious xWays clears a column that already holds high multipliers, which is rare.
Duck Hunters 2 free spins and upgrades
Free spins are triggered by Bonus symbols. The number you land sets both the mode and how many random upgrades you receive before it starts. Position multipliers do not reset between free spins, which is where the large wins come from.
| Mode | Bonus symbols | Spins | Upgrades |
|---|---|---|---|
| Duck Hunt Spins | 3 | 7 | 1 |
| Hawk Eye Spins | 4 | 8 | 2 |
| Big Game Spins | 5 | 10 | 3 |
The six possible upgrades are Upgraded xWays (every xWays becomes Infectious), Upgraded Bomb (it clears and boosts both up and down its reel), Extra +2 Shots (the spin-adding symbol awards two spins instead of one), +2 Upgrades, Extra Multipliers (five random multipliers on the first spin) and +1 Spin. Extra +1 Shot symbols add a spin each during the feature.
Because the upgrades are drawn at random, two Big Game rounds can feel quite different. Upgraded Bomb and Upgraded xWays matter most, since they decide how often high-multiplier spots are hit again. Nolimit City puts natural free spins at about 1 in 203 spins; OLBG's estimate is closer to 1 in 230.
Duck Hunters 2 bonus buy options
Outside the UK, Duck Hunters 2 offers six direct bonus buys and six boosters. The RTP figures below are the ones OLBG lists for the 96% version.
| Option | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Duck Hunt Spins | 80× bet | 7 spins, 1 upgrade (RTP 96.00%) |
| Hawk Eye Spins | 240× bet | 8 spins, 2 upgrades (RTP 96.00%) |
| Big Game Spins | 700× bet | 10 spins, 3 upgrades (RTP 96.06%) |
| Lucky Draw | 275× bet | 50% Duck Hunt, 25% Hawk Eye, 25% Big Game (RTP 95.99%) |
| xWays Juicer | 500× bet | 7 Duck Hunt Spins with Infectious xWays on every spin (RTP 96.11%) |
| Bomb Juicer | 2,800× bet | 7 Duck Hunt Spins with an Upgraded Bomb on every spin (RTP 96.04%) |
| Bonus Booster | 3× bet per spin | A Bonus symbol guaranteed on reel 2 |
| Bonus Hunt | 30× bet per spin | A Bonus symbol on the first drop and after every collapse |
| Day 8 / 64 / 512 / 2048 Spins | 10× / 90× / 800× / 4,000× per spin | Every position starts at x8, x64, x512 or x2,048 |
Lucky Draw is priced at exactly the weighted average of the three modes it can give you (half of 80, plus a quarter of 240 and of 700, makes 275), so it is a gamble on the mode rather than a discount. At a 1.00 bet, the Bomb Juicer costs 2,800 for one round, and a Day 2048 spin costs 4,000 for a single base game spin.
Every option returns close to 96% over the long run, but the cost of each round rises sharply and short-term results swing hard. The high-tier boosters in particular can lose their full price in one spin.
Duck Hunters 2 RTP, volatility and max win
The standard Duck Hunters 2 RTP is 96.00%. OLBG splits it into 68.64% from the base game and 27.36% from features. Nolimit City also offers 94.05% and 92.01% configurations to other operators; Stake's game page shows the 96.00% version.
Nolimit City rates the volatility as extreme, and we list it as very high. The numbers back that up: a hit rate under 18%, free spins about once every 200 or so spins, and most of the return locked inside rounds where multipliers survive for several spins.
The Duck Hunters 2 max win is 40,000x your bet, and the round ends as soon as that cap is reached. Nolimit City puts the chance of hitting it at 1 in 88 million spins. At the 100 maximum bet, the cap is worth 4,000,000. That is a ceiling for the maths, not something a normal session should be planned around.
What changed from Duck Hunters
The sequel keeps the formula of the original Duck Hunters from February 2025, but nearly every number has been pushed further.
- Higher ceilings: the per-position limit doubles from x8,192 to x16,384, and the max win rises from 30,000x to 40,000x. The odds of the cap move from 1 in 22 million to 1 in 88 million.
- New Bomb: the original Bomb cleared a 3×3 area (5×5 when upgraded) and doubled multipliers there. The new one works along a reel with escalating multipliers, and its upgrade extends in both directions.
- More upgrades: the pool grows from three to six. In the original, Big Game Spins gave you all three; here it gives three random picks from six.
- Random starting multipliers can now appear on base game spins.
- Buys and side bets: buy prices rise (Duck Hunt from 70x to 80x, Hawk Eye from 200x to 240x, Big Game from 600x to 700x, Lucky Draw from 235x to 275x). The Juicer buys, the Bonus Hunt booster, a half-price xTra and Side Hustles are all new. The 2x xBet is replaced by the 3x Bonus Booster.
- Setting: the hunt moves from a back garden to the woods, the ducks now shoot back, and the free spins set the forest on fire.
The RTP drops very slightly, from 96.05% to 96.00%. Between the two games, Nolimit City also released Duck Hunters: Happy Hour in January 2026.
Who Duck Hunters 2 suits
Duck Hunters 2 suits players who already enjoy multiplier-grid slots and want more control over risk, from a 3x booster up to buys costing thousands of bets. It also suits fans of the original who found its ceiling too low.
It is a poor fit for anyone after steady returns or a simple game. Dead spins are the norm, the menu of extras takes time to learn, and the biggest outcomes are extremely rare. Starting at the 0.20 minimum is a sensible way to see how the Bombs and multipliers behave. You can read more about where we play in our Stake review.
Our verdict on Duck Hunters 2
Duck Hunters 2 is a confident sequel. The doubling multiplier grid was already strong, and the column Bomb, larger upgrade pool and higher ceilings give it more ways to build towards a big spin. The bonus buy RTPs are published and sit close to 96%, which is more transparent than most studios manage.
The trade-off is complexity and harshness. With boosters, Juicers, Side Hustles and xTra all in the menu, it can feel like more options than a slot needs, and the 40,000x cap comes with long odds. We would recommend it to experienced players who like extreme volatility, at a stake they are comfortable losing for a long stretch.
Overall = 7.0×0.25 + 8.5×0.25 + 8.3×0.2 + 8.0×0.15 + 7.0×0.15 = 7.8. The score rates the game, not your odds of winning.
