Le Vampire slot review
Le Vampire is Hacksaw Gaming's gothic chapter of the Le series, casting Smokey the raccoon as a count on a 6×5 cluster pays grid. It keeps the Golden Squares engine that Le Bandit introduced, then adds Epic Rainbows, Blood Squares and a symbol upgrade bar in free spins, with a 15,000x ceiling.

How to play Le Vampire
The Le Vampire slot uses six reels and five rows with cluster pays. Five or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically form a win. After a payout, the game runs a super cascade: the winning symbols and every other copy of that symbol on the grid are cleared, fresh symbols fall in, and the spin continues while new clusters keep forming.
Bets run from 0.05 to 50 per spin. Slot databases put the hit frequency at roughly 35%, so about one spin in three returns something, although most of those returns are small cluster wins.
Every position that takes part in a win is marked as a Golden Square. Those squares only matter if a Rainbow symbol lands on the same spin. When it does, the marked squares open up and reveal coins, clovers or collectors. Without a Rainbow, the squares are cleared at the end of the spin and nothing extra happens, which is how most base game spins finish.
Le Vampire features explained
The reveal symbols follow the familiar Le pattern, with one extra coin grade and two new square types layered on top.
- Coins: four grades paying a multiple of your bet. Bronze pays 0.2x to 4x, Silver 5x to 10x, Gold 20x to 50x and Diamond 100x to 500x.
- Green Clover: multiplies the coins, bags and pots next to it by 2x to 20x.
- Gold Clover: the same 2x to 20x range, applied to every coin, bag and pot on the grid.
- Bag of Gold: collects the coins and activated bags or pots in the 3×3 area around it, once.
- Pot of Gold: collects every eligible value on the grid.
- Epic Rainbow: turns every position on the grid into a Golden Square, not just the ones that were part of a win.
- Blood Rain and Blood Squares: an Epic Rainbow can trigger Blood Rain, which turns every position into a Blood Square. These behave like Golden Squares but never reveal Bronze Coins, so the floor value of each reveal rises.
The Bag of Gold is the main mechanical change from earlier Le games. It works locally, so where it lands relative to clovers and coins decides how much it is worth. The Epic Rainbow is the other big lever, because a full grid of reveals is far more likely to line up clovers and collectors than a handful of squares from one small cluster.
Le Vampire free spins and bonus games
Scatter symbols trigger free spins, and the number of scatters decides the tier. All three bonuses start with 10 free spins and share a Symbol Bar that tracks upgrades of the high paying symbols. Each of the first three levels adds two spins. Level 4 adds two more spins and guarantees a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow on the next spin.
- Coffin Break (3 scatters): Golden and Blood Squares stay marked across spins until a Rainbow activates them, so squares can build up over several spins. High paying symbols upgrade to Epic versions, which pay double.
- Love at First Bite (4 scatters): the same rules, except squares stay marked even after a Rainbow has activated them. Every later Rainbow therefore reopens a growing set of positions. When an Epic Rainbow fires, only the squares that were already marked before it remain afterwards.
- Do Your Fang (5 scatters): the hidden top tier. It builds on Love at First Bite, guarantees a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow on every spin and sets a 1x minimum on every coin. Reaching Level 4 on the Symbol Bar here guarantees an Epic Rainbow.
Unlike Le Outlaw, there is no gamble ladder between tiers. The scatter count you land is the bonus you get, which makes the game easier to follow but removes the option of chasing an upgrade.
Le Vampire bonus buy options
| Feature | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| BonusHunt FeatureSpins | 3× bet per spin | Spins that are about five times more likely to trigger a bonus |
| Rainbow Bite FeatureSpins | 75× bet per spin | A Rainbow or Epic Rainbow on every spin, with a 1x minimum coin value |
| Rainbow Epic Drop FeatureSpins | 500× bet per spin | An Epic Rainbow on every spin, with a 1x minimum coin value |
| Coffin Break | 60× bet | Direct entry to the 3-scatter free spins |
| Love at First Bite | 250× bet | Direct entry to the 4-scatter free spins |
In practice, at a 1.00 bet Coffin Break costs 60 and Love at First Bite costs 250. The two Rainbow modes are priced per spin, so ten Rainbow Epic Drop spins cost 5,000, which is the same as twenty Love at First Bite buys. That mode is built for very large swings, not for stretching a budget.
Do Your Fang cannot be bought; five scatters are the only way in. Bonus buys and FeatureSpins raise the cost of each round sharply and do not tilt the odds in your favour. The return of each buy option was not published in the sources we checked, and buy menus can be switched off in some regions.
Le Vampire RTP, volatility and max win
The default Le Vampire RTP is 96.36%, a house edge of 3.64%. Hacksaw lists five configurations in total, including a higher 97.57% version and lower ones down to about 86.3%. Casinos choose which one to run, and Stake's own figure could not be confirmed when we checked, so open the game's info screen before you play.
Hacksaw rates the volatility 3 out of 5, and independent databases call it medium. That fits the roughly 35% hit rate, but the shape of the payouts still leans on rare events: Epic Rainbows, Blood Rain and well-placed clovers. Expect a lot of small results punctuated by the occasional large reveal.
The Le Vampire max win is 15,000x your bet, which is above Le Bandit's 10,000x and below Le Outlaw's 25,000x. At the 50 top bet that is a potential payout of 750,000. Realistically it needs one of the upper free spins tiers with a full grid of reveals and clovers landing next to the collectors, so treat it as a ceiling, not a target.
How Le Vampire differs from other Le games
The Le series shares one cast and one core idea. Smokey the raccoon changes costume for each setting, and most entries build on the Golden Squares system from Le Bandit, where winning positions turn into prize reveals when a Rainbow lands. Le Vampire is a direct descendant of that design rather than a new direction.
What it adds is scale and texture. Le Bandit has three coin grades and a single collector, the Pot of Gold. Le Vampire adds a Diamond coin worth up to 500x, a local Bag of Gold collector, Epic Rainbows that open the whole grid and Blood Squares that cut out the weakest coins. Free spins also gain the Symbol Bar, which hands out extra spins and guaranteed Rainbows as you progress.
Le Outlaw took a different route: its reveals come from revolver shots fired by winning Wilds, and its tiers are linked by a gamble. Le Vampire stays closer to the original formula, which will suit players who liked Le Bandit and want more of it, but it will feel familiar to anyone who has played several Le games already.
Who Le Vampire suits
Le Vampire suits players who enjoy reveal-and-collect mechanics and like watching a board fill up across several free spins. The medium volatility rating and the 0.05 minimum bet make it a reasonable choice for longer sessions at small stakes.
It is a weaker fit for players who want a fresh concept, since the structure closely follows earlier Le games, or for those who dislike long runs of minor wins. If you want to try it before staking real money, the free demo on Stake is the easiest route, and you can read about the site in our Stake review.
Our verdict on Le Vampire
Le Vampire is a confident iteration on Hacksaw's most successful formula. Epic Rainbows, Blood Squares and the local Bag of Gold give the Golden Squares engine more to do, and the Symbol Bar adds a clear sense of progress to free spins. The 96.36% default RTP is fair, and the 15,000x cap sits comfortably between the older and newer Le games.
The trade-off is familiarity. The look, the cast and the core loop will be well known to series fans, and the top bonus can only be reached through five scatters. We would recommend it to players who enjoy the Le style and want a medium volatility option with plenty of layers, ideally starting at a small stake.
Overall = 7.7×0.25 + 8.0×0.25 + 7.5×0.2 + 7.0×0.15 + 7.0×0.15 = 7.5. The score rates the game, not your odds of winning.
